Situation
William Simpson’s currently offers a specialist service however, there remains gaps in service provision particularly in the areas of re-training in life skills and community support. Our proposal is to renovate the existing Respite Day Care Centre to provide a Community Support Unit with single room en suite accommodation for 5 Service Users. This will also be the base for accommodating a home and community support team. This Community Support Unit only requires a small amount of Capital Expenditure. We regard this as an extremely important additional service in that it provides a specialist community based service that supports people with alcohol difficulties to return to and contribute to the community. This type of facility is not readily available at present.
