Our mission is to support Chelsea Academy in creating an inspirational community of learning and achievement that will make a positive contribution to community cohesion in Kensington and Chelsea. This learning community will be rooted in Christian values, providing outstanding educational opportunities and experiences that will enable all students – regardless of age, ability and background to reach beyond themselves, to bring out the best in themselves and to make a difference to the world that they are growing up In its first year the Foundation has raised over £150,000 which is to be invested into an endowment fund. The Foundation will serve only the Chelsea Academy and those people who attend and use the school. The area is one of the most socially diverse areas in the capital. This can be demonstrated by looking at some of the statistics of local residents. The level of affluence in students entering secondary education can be measured by looking at the entitlement of free school meals amongst the students. The overall proportion of students entitled to free school meals in 2007 was over 34%.
