    Situation

Class groups from four High Peak primary schools will work with professional musicians to create a new work to be performed at Buxton Festival 2010. Led by composer James Redwood the children and teachers will take an active role in the composition of the oratorio. This project aims to spark an interest in live music performance in our regions primary schools. By coordinating the project and offering support and advice to teachers we allow small rural schools to take part in an ambitious project which they would normally not have the means or experience to undertake. The children will not only develop their musical skills but will learn to develop team work, self-confidence and interpersonal skills throughout this project.
