    Situation

This project will allow a range of schools and community groups to work together with professional musicians to produce a professional opera production. Festival musicians will host workshops in schools across the summer term followed by an intensive rehearsal period in Buxton to prepare the teenagers for the performance at the Festival in July. The project aims to develop the musical acknowledge and interest in the region with particular focus on creating a lasting legacy in our schools by working closely with the teachers. Participants of the project will develop their performance skills, team-work, self confidence and self esteem. The work will be performed 4 times during the Festival including one free performance to invited schools.
