There is a constant movement of families in and out of the Kings Cross area. Many new comers are recent immigrants who have little if any family and often no one they can turn to for support. Parents of under fives often stay in the home, lacking the confidence to go out and meet new people. Language is often a barrier and often they just don't know where to go. Childrens development suffers and parents confidence also suffers.

By providing a drop in facility and full-time Co-ordinator for parents of children aged under five, we can help parents to develop the skills to play a more active part in their community. We will help them find a career they enjoy, help find a nursery place for children, help them meet their neighbours making new friends and creating a support network.
