Situation
Our newsletter is dispatched to 13,500 supporters and forms a vital link with the local community. It provides a wide variety of information, including hospice news, the progress of hospice projects, forthcoming fundraising events, a junior section, and reports from directors and staff. From time to time we also include articles featuring hospice patients and their families. After each issue, we receive much needed offers of practical and financial donations in addition to local people contacting us to become volunteers. Following the publication of our spring issue, we have received 400 completed entry forms for our major fundraier, a Midnight Walk on 28th June. A large team of around 50 volunteers collate the newletter in house, ensuring a cost saving to the hospice of over £1,000.
