Between Weathers will be filmed in one of the remotest and most vulnerable communities in the UK. The risk of depopulation is a real one and there is a need to stimulate re-population and tourism to develop a sustainable future for the isles. The funds raised will buy as much of the film rights as possible to ensure the star of the film, Shetland itself, will keep as much of the profits from the movie in Shetland for future generations and support film development in the isles.

A direct impact of shooting a major feature film on location will be a significant local spend, but far greater than this immediate investment is the knock on impact for years to come with visitors being drawn to the various film locations. Shetland Arts and B4Films and formed a very special partnership. Our aim is to echo the spirit of the film and for Shetland to maintain ownership of the film just like the islanders of Fustra seek to keep ownership of their island in the movie.
