We employ a full-time pastor and outreach worker and a part-time administrator, receptionist, PA, cleaner and fundraiser... yet for all of them, it's not so much a job as a passion, as totally a way of life. £100,000 would pay all of our staff members for a year, but we’d like to ask you to give us half this year and half next year, just to give other funders a chance to help us too!

    Situation

Our mission is to be “a light on the hill” to the vibrant, resourceful and diverse yet impoverished, marginalised and excluded Arthur’s Hill community of inner-city Newcastle upon Tyne. We seek to demonstrate faith, hope, justice, mercy, humility and the love of Christ to all of our neighbours. Most of our work – our luncheon club for the elderly, drop-in for asylum seekers, weekly coffee morning for the community, numerous activities for children and families – is done by our team of over 100 committed and experienced volunteers. In order to oversee and fund all that our volunteers do, and in order to further build relationships and support and advocate for those we work with, we employ a full-time pastor and outreach worker and a part-time administrator, receptionist, PA, cleaner and fundraiser. We have fully adapted our premises for use by the community, with meeting rooms, a nursery and fully-equipped kichen... and yet, we remain a church, with a cross in every room...
