Half of the older people in our community will not live to see their 70th birthday. Life expectancy in our area, recent research demonstrates, is virtually the lowest in England. Our older people can be isolated, impoverished and housebound... yet they can also be our most committed volunteers and dedicated role models. Our mission is to be “a light on the hill” to the vibrant, resourceful and diverse yet impoverished, marginalised and excluded Arthur’s Hill community of inner-city Newcastle upon Tyne. We seek to demonstrate faith, hope, justice, mercy, humility and the love of Christ to all of our neighbours.
