Wheels to Work Nottinghamshire is a transport solutions project which helps people (especially young people) in rural areas to get over the initial problem of getting to work, and learning. The project offers help and advice, a moped loan scheme, and Ignition, a new scheme offering assistance tailored to an individual’s personal needs. The scheme offers up to 6 months scooter loan service for anyone over the age of 16 who lives in Nottinghamshire and is unable to access a job, training or education placement due to a lack of transport. We can also help businesses and employers who are struggling to recruit or keep employees because of their location or transport difficulties. Our latest scheme, Ignition, is a new initiative providing new routes to access work in north Nottinghamshire. This scheme will enable even more people to overcome accessibility barriers, not with a moped loan, but with a solution tailored to their individual needs. It might be taxi vouchers, vehicle repairs, a bus pass, a moped training course, motorcycling equipment, a push bike, or any other solution which meets their individual circumstances and needs. It will be especially beneficial to those people who need some help, but the moped loan is not the most efficient or effective solution. Ignition has a maximum spend of £200 per client, and will provide people with the solution itself, not the money!
