    Situation

We would like to apply for funding to pay a professional colourist and designer to work with our small collective of weavers, developing their approach to design and colour and encouraging them to experiment and create individual styles and themes. We have found an award winning textile designer with whom we’d like to work. She has 19 years of experience working with designers such as Georgina von Etzdorf and with the National Gallery, London. With Georgina von Etzdorf she was responsible for the completion of colour and print ideas of over 35 collections. This designer could greatly enhance the skills and experience of our weavers and help them to develop their art. We have two exhibition galleries at Farfield and it is hoped that we can devise an exhibition of the work developed as a result of the residency.
