    Situation

The new facility will be a place for everyone - their place. It will be a place for young people, particularly the vulnerable. It will be a place for older people who want to meet and eat. It will be a place where different cultures can meet in a community where racism is very evident. It will be a place from where voluntary and statutory services will be delivered. It will be a place which will bring the arts and culture agenda up from the Quayside (the Baltic, the Sage) into the centre of an urban estate. It will be a place where partners who share the vision of making a difference will be able to find workshop, office and meeting spaces - and contribute to the running expenses of the centre - thus helping to bring about financial sustainability.
