This project will determine the sensitivity of prostate mesenchymal stem cells to hormones, aiming to determine their role in BPH. Developing our understanding of the role of prostate stem cells in BPH may ultimately lead to targeted treatments with greater efficacy.

The aim will be to identify cell surface markers on prostate mesenchymal stem cells that can be used for stem cell isolation and ultimately as targets for therapy.
