Sponsoring a pupil at Manchester High School for Girls is a means of changing a girl's life completely. In 1874, the School’s Founders wished that the benefits of an education at Manchester High School for Girls should not be restricted only to those who can pay the fees, and that talented girls, regardless of circumstances, should be able to enjoy what Manchester High offers. Without further income generation, we shall not be able to continue to finance any of these life-changing opportunities. In 2007, the School gained 100% pass rate at GCSE A*- C and 100% pass rate at A-level (with 96% grades A to B). Therefore, being a student at Manchester High School really does make a difference, as we give our students the skills, opportunity and confidence to compete with the brightest and the best in the world. Is it cost effective? Absolutely. In 2006, MHSG was voted the UK’s top value for money girls’ school in the country, according to an independent survey commissioned by the Halifax.
