Maryvale comprises Grade II listed buildings more than 260 years old which have been used variously as a school, Oscott seminary, religious novitiate and an orphanage. Only slight modifications have been made since Maryvale became the present distance learning college and more good quality accommodation is needed. The Mercy wing, built in 1907, serves as a student lounges and offices but would be better used for extra study-bedrooms and a recreation area.
