We provide fun activities, short breaks, holidays, counselling, school support and family support for young carers aged 6 - 18 who look after a family member. The people being looked after have an illness, disability, mental health issue, or drug/alcohol problem.

    Situation

These young carers have a huge amount of responsibility that many of us rarely experience, especially at such a young age, and this project provides the support to allow them to have a short break from their caring responsibilities. To give some examples of how donations would be spent: £15 could provide an hour of respite for the 'cared-for', allowing the young carer to have a break to join in with some outside activity £20 could provide a young carer with a 1 to 1 counselling session £45 could buy us an hour long session at the local indoor football pitch for a group of young carers £60 pays for a session with a skilled worker to support a group of young people who have a sibling with a life limiting illness £100 could pay for a worker to provide support over a period of time to help a young carer get back into education £200 could pay for a young carer to have a 4 day holiday with other young carers, including all activities. All donations, no matter how large or small, are gratefully received. Thank you for any help you can give.
