Project Care is hoping to provide two part-time care workers. One for the elderly to provide home visits with practical assistance; some transport to hospital and/or shops; form filling, and a person who will be there as a "friend". The other would be for single parent families and their children.

    Situation

Having been founded in 2002, we work in an area that is in the top 10% deprivation (national statistics) and this principally affects young people and the elderly. The violent crime rate is 53% higher than the national average. 81% of the residents are in social groups C – E. There are families in a situation of social melt-down; having attendance difficulties at school with children, and they also need resources to assist the family group.

    Solution

The Hanworth & Feltham Project believes that by our work, we will help relieve some of the pressure that our families face in their daily lives. We will provide vital time and space in families’ lives. We believe that this time and space helps strengthen the family unit to support parents in raising their children. In terms of the elderly, the Project aims to improve the quality of the individual’s life and for them to enjoy their years with self-respect and dignity.
