This project will develop facilities for adults with profound and complex needs. These include: a kitchen, where skills learnt can be transferred to the home setting; an area to enable song, dance and musical instrument sessions; and a sensory room, to stimulate as well as to facilitate relaxation.
It ran from 12:00 PM, 28 November 2017 to 12:00 PM, 5 December 2017

Our current facilities are inadequate for our service users. They do not enable us to provide the level of care necessary to enhance the lives of those we support in line with best practice. This is largely due to a lack of space, adequate toilet and personal care facilities and opportunity for stimulating activities. Our current facilities also provide limited capacity for expansion. We would like to double our occupancy rate from 7 to 14, to share what we do with more disadvantaged adults.
By expanding provision we will help more people have the opportunity to socialise, to grow in confidence and to feel valued and that they have a meaningful and productive role in society. Being able to offer more dignity when providing personal care will also help to enhance the everyday experience of our service users. They will then be able to benefit from the same standards that the rest of us take for granted. Our focus is the provision of enhanced facilities to in turn enhance lives.
