Building New Coventry Cat Rescue Centre

We have just been left an ideal property in a will . This is a unique opportunity to establish the house as a cat rescue as wished by the owner. The house has previously been used for boarding cats but pens are now falling down. Coventry has no cat rescue centres and many homeless cats.

Coventry has a population of nearly half a million people and a huge problem with unwanted and stray cats. Currently Coventry has no cat rescue centre and the problem is so great that we cannot get enough volunteers to foster all the cats and kittens we get called upon to help. Last year, for the first time ever, we had to refuse to help a pregnant stray cat - and that was after urgent appeals on the local radio for emergency fosterers. It is something we do not want to do again!

By securing the funds to build some new pens and establish the house as a rescue centre we will be able to help more cats at any given time. Together with the continued use of our network of fosterers we can more than double our current capacity. The existence of a real shelter, rather than just our virtual website, will also increase our homing rate as people will be able to visit the centre and engage with the animals. The centre will also provide a location for fundraising days.
