Many young people find it (or found it) hard to engage with their education and in particular do not enjoy reading and writing. New Writing South aim to change that. All those involved with our work have noted that following one of our projects, students’ literacy improves; their confidence in and enthusiasm for writing increases hugely; and their ability to work as part of a team is enhanced.

New Writing South believes in nurturing tomorrow’s writers today. We have a team of authors, poets, screen-writers and playwrights who deliver our creative writing projects in schools and other informal places of learning. All the writers are professional with published and/or performed work, are CRB-checked, attend training on working with schools, and are offered Continuing Professional Development.
