This Way Up

Training room equipment and furnishings

Increased numbers of children and young people needing to talk about the affect of divorce and bereavement means that This Way Up needs to expand. We have acquired new premises but now need to equip a training room in order that we can train youth workers locally and fro across the UK.

Situation

More young people affected by loss through bereavement and divorce than we can see. Currently 10 on our waiting list. Our current service in schools is very successful accessing 120 young people p.a. but we have recently found demand for out of school services too. We need to train more workers locally and from around the UK. Our training services are in demand from organisations around the country wishing to offer similar services. We now have a local base to train others.

Solution

Our new building is right in the heart of the community that we serve and easily accessible by public transport for those further away. It has ample accommodation for our staff team, group and individual counselling, and training. We'll be able to not only reach out to more young people but with more space we can meet with parents too!
