Care facilities and equipment in constant use requires continued upgrading as new technology in care equipment and new pracices in care provision develop. Patients are presenting with more complex case histories due to an interlinked range of conditions, both physical and psychological. The problem is to ensure that the hospice provides the best possible care for all concerned.

The Quality Assurance Group undertakes regular reviews of aspects of hospice practice and an Audit Group looks at particular practices and procedures. This work highlights the need for new equipment and training for clincal staff which can then be resolved through appropriate executive action according to budget constraints.
