Magical Theatre for all Every year the Citizens Theatre produces a very special Christmas show for all the family at its beautiful Victorian theatre, set a short walk from Glasgow city centre. The Citz is proud to offer something different from the traditional pantomime. The current economic climate means that it is increasingly difficult to fund a large scale Christmas production and keep ticket prices affordable as well as to offer free workshops to schools and community groups.

Every year the Citizens seeks support for its Christmas production to ensure that residents of Glasgow can access affordable, quality theatre at Christmas. Donations to the theatre will allow us to ensure that A Christmas Carol is as magical as previous award winning family shows such as Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan. We will deliver a range of free workshops for schools and community groups. Support from our audiences will allow us to continue this important commitment.

  • I loved the wonderful atmosphere of the venue. The special effects were brilliant, my four year old grandson was totally glued to his seat!

  • Frankly, superlatives dwindle into inadequacy.

    — The Herald on Cinderella 2009 (5 stars)

  • I brought my little girl and her friend to Cinderella. They absolutely loved it and were enthralled throughout. The adults...loved it as well.
