Situation

Ballet companies have a small number of popular classical productions which they perform each year. To attract new audiences and appeal to a broader cross section of society Birmingham Royal Ballet plan to choreograph a new ballet in 2010 to breathe life and creativity into the traditional ballet heritage with a ballet which will appeal to modern audiences and traditional ballet lovers alike.

Solution

Cinderella will premiere in Birmingham at Christmas 2010 with a new production choreographed by David Bintley winner of the South Bank Show Award for Dance in 2010. He will work in collaboration with designer John Macfarlane and lighting designer David Finn to create a magical production to appeal to both children and adults, inspiring new audiences for the future.
