    Situation

Approximately 33 million people are living with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) and 2.5 million are infected every year. Access to anti-viral therapy is improving and prolonging life, but there is still no cure or vaccine and prevention has to be our urgent priority. Effective prevention is the result of lifestyle choices that avoid high risk behaviour and this takes time. There is a need for effective programmes on a scale never seen before.

    Solution

For the last 20 years, Aids Care Education and Training has pioneered AIDS prevention and care programmes around the world in Africa Asia, plus Eastern and Western Europe. ACET wants to offer relevant, proven sex and relationship education to 1 million 13 - 25 year olds in schools, churches, prisons and orphanages, designed to encourage them to make safe, informed decisions and reduce the risk of HIV and AIDS amongst this most vulnerable group.
