Summer holidays are very expensive and increasingly out of reach for many local children from low income families. We want to take 40 local children on a back to basics camp this summer. The children will get a break from the city and learn valuable life skills!

Situation
Children from low income households and large families cannot afford breaks during the long summer holidays. Our playground is also situated in a very densely populated urban area that is currently being regenerated causing noise, disruption and significant loss of play space. This offers few options for local children to get outdoors during the holidays and whilst our playground is a fantastic resource it is great to have an opportunity to get out of London and back to basics.
Solution
Our Summer Camp is a 5 day back to basics experience offering; a break from London and modernity; new life skills including bushcraft; new friends; development of confidence and resilience; fresh healthy meals daily. Parents and carers are asked to make a very small contribution to secure a space however for families who are unable to the contribution is waived. In this way all children who may benefit are able to request a space on the Summer Camp.
