It is increasingly important given the high levels of unemployment amongst young people in Scotland, that young people have an awareness of enterprise combined with the necessary skills & experience to make it an achievable future pathway. With fewer traditional employment avenues & low levels of economic growth, new business start-ups &young people with the skills, experience & confidence to develop them are vitally important to future economic development at a local and national level
Young Enterprise Scotland’s ‘learning by doing’ activities increase young people’s entrepreneurial ability and work-readiness by developing skills and personal strengths in: communication, confidence, problem solving, finance, presenting, leadership, decision-making, creative-thinking, organisation, resilience, initiative and teamwork - all essential skills for running a successful business or doing well whatever their chosen career path
