    Situation

Three children in every classroom have a mental health problem and about 10% of young people are suffering from a diagnosable mental health disorder. Teachers and other staff members require practical advice and resources in order to offer support to their pupils. There are very few events of this type in the North of England with the general focus being in London. Events are usually provided on a paid for basis, making them less accessible to schools who do not prioritise mental health.

    Solution

The conference provides a fresh approach and evidence based, practical advice. Delegates will be in a good position to cascade their knowledge back to colleagues and the strategies shared during the day are designed to have an immediate impact on the entire student body at each school. Additionally, we will generate legacy materials and encourage delegates to sign up to free mental health training offered by the Trust.
