Situation

Magic Bus UK identified teenage girls as a group whose needs are not currently being met. Research tells us girls aged 12-15 from poorer backgrounds are at risk of gang culture, peer pressure, body issues, teenage pregnancy, poor classroom engagement and social exclusion. Poor educational attainment paves the way to a cycle of social exclusion, poor employment opportunities and less of a contribution to society.

Solution

Our programme is designed to improve the participants behavior and social and emotional development by offering a safe environment. The goal is to improve their confidence, well-being and self efficacy through fun sports activity and group discussion. Each session is managed by a trained Magic Bus Coach who acts as a mentor and role model and in partnership with the school designs the sessions to tackle key issues and facilitate an environment that contributes towards their emotional well-being
