    Situation

30.8% of children in Wolverhampton live in poverty. As such children at The Haven are facing severe, complex and multiple disadvantages. Violent homes have the same effect on the brain of a child as combat does on the brain of a soldier. Domestic abuse affects every single part of a child's life from health and welfare, to education, and social development.

    Solution

By offering a variety of services tailored to meet the needs of the children we see, The Haven enables these victims of domestic abuse to regain confidence, independence and control over their own lives so they have the tools and skills to successfully re-enter mainstream society. The Haven delivers support based on therapeutic play, workshops, one-to-one sessions and group therapy sessions according to the needs of each child.
