Military trauma causes flashbacks, nightmares, anger and depression - often leading to violence, alcohol and substance abuse, job loss, family breakdown and even suicide. Veterans and TA may struggle to reintegrate into a normal work & family life because of military post traumatic stress suffered as a result of service in the armed forces. Over 300 Falklands veterans have committed suicide; more than were killed in the fighting in 1982.

PTSD Resolution will fund therapy for UK armed forces’ veterans and reservists. Each therapy costs £550, with near 80% success. Treatment is on an outpatient basis, to support family and work routines. It is confidential, on a one-to-one basis, with no waiting lists. A referral is not needed. Therapy is brief and effective – generally within three to five one-hour sessions treatment is ended by mutual agreement. It is unusual for further support to be needed subsequently
