Situation

There is clear demand for Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop's services by artists who need studios, opportunities and specialist facilities to enable them to make work, establish connections and build their careers. Equally we cannot cope with demand for education and other services from public users, education institutions and partner organizations in the city. Our current building offers an environment which is neither accessible nor comfortable and severely limits what we can offer.

Solution

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop will create a new, purpose-built centre to enable us to expand our services and accommodate people of all ages and ability. The comprehensive range of facilities and the expanded programme will create many more professional opportunities for artists and the mix of activities and services will enable a wider audience to visit, work and engage with artists at ESW.
