Refugee Week Radio is an online community media project which aims to publicise and celebrate the events and activities of Refugee Week, give a platform to refugee individuals and organisations, bring together media contributions from around the country and discuss some of the issues involved.

There is still much prejudice towards and misinformation about refugees and asylum seekers in the mainstream media, as well as a lack of opportunities for such groups to take part and speak for themselves.
Solution
Refugee Week Radio provides a platform for individuals and groups to participate in the media, whilst highlighting and promoting positive stories to a wider audience. We gather reports and interviews with refugees including artists, writers and representatives of community groups. These are published via the website (refugeeweekradio-dot-net) live and on-demand. We also provide training and support for those who want to take part in the production process.
