    Situation

There is a need for education for hospitality workers who have ease in obtaining alcohol in the workplace. Young trainee chefs, restaurant and kitchen staff work in a stressful, pressured & uncomfortable environment. They work long arduous and unsocial hours which leads to individuals seeking relief and relaxation and alcohol is the ‘drug’ of choice for many. In a recent survey carried out by the industry's magazine 98% of those asked have witnessed their colleagues under the influence.

    Solution

Through inter-active educational seminars exclusively for catering students we aim to inform of the dangers of alcohol excess on the mind and body. How many units can be consumed, how the body processes a unit, how many units in a drink, how individuals react differently to ethanol. By delivering our presentation to all hospitality e students annually we aim to encourage a responsible and informed adult who will join a workforce of 1.6billion workers.
