Everyone needs a change and time off occasionally. This is especially true for carers who have given so much of their time to caring for a loved one indeed one third of long term carers in the UK have never taken a holiday. People on the path to recovery from illness that has kept them at home dealing with ongoing symptoms from their disease or harsh medical treatments also need to have a change of scene. A break can allow carers and survivors to do the things that we take for granted
Solution
Going on holiday is a great way to unwind and improve your well being. In this project Respite & Recovery aim to purchase and manage three static holiday homes at Ladram Bay Park in Devon to enable carers and people in recovery from illness to take a holiday break at a seaside resort in the UK. Here they can relax and build new experiences to share and memories that are removed from hospital appointments and the legacy of invasive treatments
