Our MAPD project is all about improving the personal qualities of children and young people from disadvanteged backgrounds and areas of deprivation. Using Forest School we set them up to achieve using small achievable tasks which boost self estemm confidence, team working and communication skills.

Many children and young people come form broken homes where they may not have positive role models, or have parents will low parenting skills, this often leads to problems in school with behaviour and attainment levels which are caused by low self esteem, poor communication skills etc. Our project address the personal qualities which help the participants re-engage with school life and improve their attainment levels and settle back into school life.
Through achievable tasks set in the outdoors we work on problem solving and communications skills as well as boosinf confidence and sle esteem. There are many young people who are kinaesthetic learners and often struggle to concentrate in the conventional classroom.
