The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) exists to inspire Young People facing adversity, to give them hope and ambition. We plan to build The British Centre of Inspirational Excellence - an eco building providing residential courses to these Young People and their carer and a centre for charities.

    Situation

It can be devastating dealing with physical or mental disability, with deprivation, with injury and wounding, or with being a young carer looking after someone dealing with any of these. The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) exists to provide vital support, hope and ambition to young people (16 to 25) facing this kind of adversity and to inspire change in them and wider society. Currently there is no charity focused on this approach and no centre dedicated to running inspirational courses.

    Solution

Building a centre will allow us to offer residential courses in a state of the art facility. We will work with other charities who will nominate Young People to attend short residential courses in a topic which interests them. The course will bring the Young People into contact with inspirational figures who will encourage and enthuse them. Subsequent work placements will give them experience working in their chosen field inspiring them to overcome the barriers they face to achieve their aim.
