    Situation

    Our service aim is to improve the lives of people affected by drug use in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We provide counselling for people affected by their own or another’s drug use, working with individuals, couples and families. The service is available to people aged 16 years or more and is available at Simpson House and HMP Edinburgh.

    Solution

    All our counsellors bring a knowledge of substance use and addiction to their work and share a client-focused approach which reflects the client's agenda and priorities in counselling. According to each counsellor's training, experience and continuing professional development, counsellor's draw on a range of counselling models and techniques in their client work. All our counsellors have or are working towards a recognised qualification in counselling at diploma level or equivalent and receive
