    Situation

The project need was identified by central government following an analysis of the interaction between those over 50 and those under 25 and the loss of traditional skills and community cohesion over the years leading to misconceptions by each of the generations. The project goals are to increase the number of volunteers over 50 and under 25, involved in community projects by 200 per annum. Creating sustainable projects and skills exchanges that help to improve perceptions, fear of other generations and social inclusion of vulnerable groups especially in deprived areas of Northampton. The project costs around £50K per annum to run which includes all activity costs, volunteer expences, running costs, staff time and CRB costs.
