The Stoke on Trent Community Fund is a new fund that the Staffordshire Community Foundation are building to benefit the people of Stoke on Trent. For every £1 donated to the Stoke on Trent Community Fund we'll match it with 50p, so when we are at our target of £160,000 donated, the fund will be worth just short of a quarter of a million pounds - all for the people of Stoke on Trent.

The challenge, as featured in The Sentinel on Monday 8th March, is to create a significant fund for the people of Stoke on Trent. It will help to fund community groups and voluntary groups. All the money raised for the fund will be invested and the interest will be given away as grants to help people throughout Stoke on Trent. The main capital of the fund, (the target of £160,000 plus our £80,000 contribution), will never be touched - it will be around forever and will continue giving interest forever. What's more, the fund will grow over time, through reinvestment of interest and through further donations way into the future.
