Situation

In an area where tree coverage is below the national average, we want to create a network of wooded areas, improving our green spaces, the quality of the air we breathe, and also making sure that Peterborough is less vulnerable to the effects of flooding and other extreme weather.

Solution

We are running a campaign that raises awareness about the positive impact trees have on our health and wellbeing as well as the environment. We are also attracting support for the project - businesses, schools, community groups, land owners, everyone in the community can get involved with this project. This year we want to plant 10,000 uk native trees. This will go towards our target of 183,600 trees in 20 years.
