    Situation

    The lecture will be given by guest international restorative justice expert Professor Marelize Schoeman (University of South Africa) and hate crime specialist Dr. Mark Walters (University of Sussex). This interactive lecture will be chaired by IARS' Founder and Director, Dr. Theo Gavrielides who has published extensively in the area of hate crime and restorative justice.

    Solution

    Taking advantage of Professor Schoeman's visit to the UK, we will explore the utilisation of restorative justice in South African hate crime prevention programmes and social policy developments as well as her recent work on the concept of Ubuntu Dr. Walter's ground breaking study on the use of restorative justice for hate crime will be used as a platform for debate. The audience will be offered the opportunity for questions and critical thinking.
