Derbyshire Wildlife Trust will lead a partnership group to spearhead nature improvement in this important valley. Methods of enhancements include direct conservation action on existing wildlife, more access for the pubic, landowner advice, fresh survey mapping, management agreements over key sites.

The project will try to reverse the decline of wildlife and its habitats in the Erewash valley.
The problem will be solved by means of group and wider participation and input. The partnership approach will garner collective action from other groups. For example, the direct conservation action on existing sites will be most effective if local volunteers can give a hand, survey data to be shared. Also grants information from Natural England can be disseminated by various groups with landowner contacts - to achieve best environmental practice among farmers and other owners of sensitive sites
