    Situation

The majority of children were trafficked from Nepal into Indian circuses. We rescued them - and are now responsible for the care and daily lives of children (most of whom are girls) who cannot return to their villages. Without our intervention, these children would remain on the fringes of Nepali society - rejected by their home communities as damaged goods and possibly subjected to trafficking a second time. While in India, the children were virtually enslaved, working up to 18 hours a day and completely denied an education. Our end objective is to educate and train children so that upon leaving our residential refuges they can obtain a job and live independently and contribute actively to their local community upon their reintegration. Breakdown for 130 children for 365 days: Food = £32,485 Clothes = £1,080 Education support (extra tuition) = £5,200 Total: £38,765
