With a passion for music, the Inspire Arts Trust has had a desire to do something more for many years, and as a result, the first 'Filtered DJ Academy' has been born. The Inspire Arts Trust, is a national charity that has the aim of inspiring young people to realise their potential, be creative and live their dream, The Filtered courses hope to encourage and train up hundreds of potential DJs and producers, and release the next generation of artists into the music industry through training. The Academy will initially take the form of weekend DJ ‘crash’ courses, and then further developing the academy to offer longer term courses, in a variety of subjects including music production, studio engineering and recording, new media, design, live visuals and self promotion. The Inspire Arts Trust which has been working for many years with young people who have become marginalized due to their social background. Inspire currently helps young people to understand the roots of their behavior and empowers them to break the cycle of deprivation. Students on Inspire courses are given a sense of self-worth through the discovery of untapped talent and the encouragement to use their new skill in the community. Already many young people have been inspired, discovered a new purpose and are living their dream through Inspire. The Filtered DJ Academy and the Inspire Arts Trust enjoys creativity and is passionate in seeing young people express themselves through music and the arts. The trust aims to be all-inclusive especially targeting young people who are disadvantaged through poverty, disability, alcohol, drugs and crime. All of these courses are based at Caedmon, a £3 million pound arts complex uniquely designed to stimulate creativity. Its uniqueness includes two state of the art pro tools recording studios, dance studio, DJ and artist rehearsal rooms, performance venue and new media design suite, a perfect place to train and release new artists. We are looking for a £10,000 investment to enable us to bring our facilities and equipment up to industry standard specification, and thereofre be able to teach the young people on the best there is. We already have support form some major companies including Sennheiser, Livid and Rane Technology, who have all seen the potential of Inspire and the Filtered DJ Academy courses and want to invest, but we need more help to get us where we want to be.
