There is approximately 160 volunteering opportunities offered by over 100 organisations in the borough of Castle Point. We recruit volunteers of all ages for a wide variety of local groups and clubs. Also, we look to create new volunteering opportunties by working with groups to develop their services. We romote volunteering to encourage more people to get involved. We do this by supporting national campaigns such as Volunteers' Week and Make a Difference Day or going to local events, schools, community meetings and forums to give presentations. Annually this project costs approximately £30,000 to operate some of which is covered by local statutory bodies through service level agreements but we need to raise funds to cover the differnce. A more accurate breakdown of figures is available on request.
