The Busking project has the aim to encourage performers to raise money for local charities. It also encouraged and develops their performance skills as they perform to a live audience. They also meet many other like minded people and get involved in many other volunteering.

Situation
Due to funding cuts we had many musicians and performers who have been performing for us voluntarily for the last three years at a loose end, this project was set up so their talent wouldn't be wasted. 2.1% of people in Somerset are unemployed 5.7% are under the age of 24. These people have nothing to do and very little self esteem. this project will give them work experience and get them motivated, it will also improve their self esteem and self worth.
Solution
This project creates many different volunteering opportunities, there are the opportunities for performers but also many for people who want to be involved but don't feel that performance is for them, some of these are Stewarding, sound engineers, media crew e.c.t This project will tackle the unemployment problem in Somerset by giving people experience to put on their CVs and improve their work History's.
