    Situation

One in 29 children and young people have been bereaved of a parent, brother or sister. The death of someone brings change and challenge into a child's life, and can be devastating. Some children are lucky enough to have great support from family, friends and communities, but others struggle to find the help they need. Adults may be grieving themselves or worried about making things worse and many friends and peers simply don't know what to say.

    Solution

Our network is made up of 250 members across the UK, who are professionals that work directly with bereaved children. By supporting our members’ work, advocating, supporting, signposting and innovating we can improve the bereavement care available to children. We will make the sector more efficient by reducing duplication among our members, and more effective by coordinating a national voice to influence policymakers and the public, and leading improvements in children's support services.
