At the Orpheus Centre we work with young disabled adults, promoting independence and self confidence through the performing arts. Our project is to build a bursary fund to enable students who cannot obtain sufficient social services or other funding to access our high quality programme.

    Situation

Our vision is for young disabled adults to live independently in the community and participate fully in society regardless of their background. There are many young disabled adults who can benefit from Orpheus and in 2013 we are embarking on an ambitious but necessary three-year growth programme that will change the lives of many more young disabled people. With cuts in social services funding, building a bursary scheme will mean we can continue to offer our programme.

    Solution

£200k will fund a bursary scheme that will pay for the equivalent of five full-time students on a three year learning programme at the Orpheus Centre.
