Parents and carers of children with disabilities and extra support needs identified that their children were missing out on mainstream leisure activities as providers were often unable to cater for their children. The continuing need for this project is evidenced by the constant referrals from professionals and enquiries from families.
The COG project improves quality of life for the children and young people involved as they are given the chance to develop life skills, confidence and gain independence. They will overcome social exclusion by being able to participate in mainstream recreational opportunities.
